Billy Crystal is coming back to Broadway this fall in a one-man show that's all about coming home.
The Long Beach-raised actor-comedian will star in "860," a new production that takes its title from the address of the Pacific Palisades home he and his wife, Janice Crystal, lost in the California wildfires in January 2025.
"We lived there for 46 years," Billy Crystal, 78, said in a statement. "I invite you to come inside 860 and I’ll tell you all the funny and touching things that happened there, not only in my career but to our family. It’s a joyous and heartfelt visit, about how, with the love of family and friends and your inner strength, you can get through tough times. I look forward to returning to Broadway and welcoming audiences to 860."
Previews for the show, which will play a 12-week limited engagement at a Shubert theater yet to be announced, are scheduled to begin in October. Those looking to see the show can sign up for priority ticketing announcements and updates at BillyCrystal860.com.
Crystal also wrote "860," which is being directed by Broadway veteran Scott Ellis ("Doubt," "The Rocky Horror Show").
The last time Crystal appeared on Broadway was in the 2022 musical "Mr. Saturday Night," which was based on the 1992 movie that he starred in and directed. He earned two Tony nominations for that show — one for his performance and another for his book.
Crystal made his Broadway debut in 2004 with his one-man show "700 Sundays," based on his bestselling autobiography of the same name released in 2005. "700 Sundays" dealt with the star's relationship with his father, Jack Crystal, who worked two jobs and was only able to spend Sundays with his family. He also starred in a Broadway revival of the show that ran from November 2013 to January 2014.
The Emmy-winning Oscars host, whose breakout role was playing one of TV's first openly gay characters on the '70s sitcom "Soap," has had his greatest success as the star of such hit movies as "When Harry Met Sally ..." (1989), "City Slickers" (1991) and "Analyze This" (1999). In 2023, he also was one of the Kennedy Center honorees along with soprano Renée Fleming, Bee Gees member Barry Gibb, hip-hop star and actor Queen Latifah, and singer Dionne Warwick. The Kennedy Center had previously honored Crystal with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2007.
