A Halloween party is coming to The Paramount in Huntington

Halloween is about to hit differently this year as the holiday lands on a Saturday where dancing is the order of the day. Haunted “House” at The Paramount will make its debut in Huntington on Oct. 31, featuring Long Island's DJ Theo Pisani.
“About a decade ago, Halloween took over as the most popular holiday in our industry,” Pisani, of Commack, says. “It’s become bigger than New Year’s Eve.”
Event promoter Brian Rosenberg adds, “Halloween has become the special event of the year because it’s more performative with the costume element. Plus, having it land on a Saturday is as good as it gets. It’s the holiday on steroids.”
Pisani is legendary on Long Island for his residencies at The Neptune Beach Club in Hampton Bays, Posh at the Garden City Hotel and the Boat Yard in Massapequa. He is known for his unique flow and good time vibe.
“Theo is the face of house music on Long Island and a music anthologist,” Rosenberg says. “He adapts to whatever the situation is and can go in any direction. You can’t put him in a box.”
Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. for the 21 and over event that begins at 9 p.m. and runs until 1 a.m. However, don’t expect the stereotypical Halloween fare. The plan is to transform the room in a contemporary way.
“The visuals will come from dancers dressed as neon vampires and zombies, stilt walkers, a video wall with Halloween-themed images and special lighting illuminating the room,” Pisani says. “The Paramount is a special showy venue with a big dance floor and we will use it to the max.”
Guests are encouraged to dress in creative costumes for there will be a contest, but not in a traditional sense.
“A team of elusive judges will scan the room and only the winners will be presented on stage,” Pisani says. Costume prizes will be given out.
In terms of the music, Pisani works in the moment and takes the temperature of the room.
“I will spin the big songs of the year, but I’ll also play tracks that fit the theme of the night,” Pisani says. “There are certain records that are spooky like ‘Nightmare’ or ‘Freaks Come Out at Night.’ Some I might remix to have a little fun with it. I’ll play a dope version of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ as well as Lana Del Ray’s remake of ‘Season of the Witch.’ You just want it to fit seamlessly.”
Tickets ($37.50-$65) go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. via ticketmaster.com. However, a presale will run Tuesday at 10 a.m. to Thursday at 10 p.m. using the password: THEO.
