The Long Island hospitality industry is a generous bunch, routinely supporting local organizations, sponsoring sports teams and making other unsung contributions.

Then there are the organized events where restaurants, markets, breweries, vineyards and more combine forces to raise money for charity. Here are two to look out for.

May 13: Chefs for a Cause

One of the longest-running culinary-benefit galas around is the Babylon Breast Coalition's Chefs for a Cause at the Piermont in Babylon. This is the 25th year that the community is coming together for an evening of sampling food and drink, auctions and raffles and live music.
