A Suffolk County brewpub is opening its doors for an earlier crowd. Manorville’s Westhampton Beach Brew and Grille has expanded its offerings with a new brunch menu, which launched late this summer.

The space opened last spring on County Road 111, and the brunch inclusion has been in the works since last fall. It took partners Brian Sckipp, John Salvaggio and Vinny Greco about a year to execute the menu of eight main dishes and three griddle options.

"In speaking to our customers, we felt that there was nothing like that in the area," Sckipp said. "But just like opening any new business, there are a lot of unpredictable events coming at us and it kept getting pushed aside until recently."

Brunch is now offered Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and includes breakfast tacos ($14.95) made with scrambled or egg whites served in a pancake shell accompanied by guests’ choice of bacon, sausage, ham and a selection of toppings including cheese, onions, mushrooms, scallions, peppers and spinach. Another brunch staple on the menu is the avocado toast ($11.95) which is smashed avocado served on multigrain toast topped with tomato and red onion. Guests can add bacon or eggs for $3 each. From the griddle, they also have chicken and waffles ($17.95) as well as French toast ($13.95).

"We’re starting out with twists on some of the comfort foods you’d see at brunch," Sckipp said. "A lot of it came out of fun conversations and something that dan had seen at other restaurants or he had tried and decided he wanted to put a different twist on it."

The drink menu includes a must for any brunch: a $20 mimosa flight  featuring four of 11 flavors, including watermelon, lavender, peach, blood orange and strawberry. There is also a "manmosa" ($10) which is a Pilsner or IPA, served with sparkling wine and orange juice.

The menu is only offered at the Manorville location, not the Westhampton beach eatery, which opened earlier this year, Sckipp said.

"As we approach next year, we may release it over there as well in the spring or early summer, when the summer crowds start coming back out," he said. "But for now, we’re trying to focus on Manorville because there is that year-round population there."
