Early morning fire destroys Commack home; 8 people displaced

Firefighters from 10 companies battled a blaze early Sunday that completely engulfed a home in Commack, authorities said.
The fire on Harned Road was reported shortly before 1 a.m., according to Suffolk County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services. Ten companies responded to the scene, according to FRES; a list of the companies was not available.
Eight residents were safely evacuated, according a spokesperson for the Commack Fire Department; there were no injures.
Photos from the scene show the home fully engulfed in smoke and flames bursting through the roof.
