Carlos Bonaparte, of Bellport, dies after fight in East Patchogue, police say

Suffolk County police are investigating the death of a Bellport man after a fight early Sunday in East Patchogue.
Around 2:45 a.m., police responded to a report of a fight outside a home on Taylor Avenue in East Patchogue.
Police determined that Carlos Bonaparte, 44, had been struck in the head with an unknown object during the fight.
Before police arrived, he was taken by a private vehicle to NYU Langone Hospital — Suffolk in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, police said.
It is unclear how many people were involved in the fight or what sparked the altercation.
The incident comes just over one month after another fatal fight in East Patchogue, where Justin Evans, 22, of Bay Shore, died after being stabbed.
