A Lake Ronkonkoma man has pleaded guilty to selling drugs to a 13-year-old girl and in one instance, getting her to have sex with him when she couldn't pay for cocaine, Suffolk prosecutors said Thursday.
Luis Gonzalez, 23, pleaded guilty to felony charges of criminal sale of a controlled substance to a child, aggravated patronizing a minor for prostitution and third-degree rape for selling drugs to the girl and having sex with her in exchange for cocaine, prosecutors said.
Acting State Supreme Court Justice Karen M. Wilutis is expected to sentence Gonzalez to 4 years in prison and 10 years of post-release supervision when he's sentenced next month. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
“This defendant targeted a child, first with marijuana and vapes and then with cocaine, using her dependence on drugs to exploit her for his own benefit,” Suffolk District Attorney Ray Tierney said in a statement. “He has now admitted that conduct in open court and will be held accountable."
Gonzalez's defense attorney didn't immediately respond to a message Thursday.
From January 2023 to September 2025, Gonzalez sold marijuana and vape products to the girl, who was 13 years old when she began buying drugs from him, prosecutors said, citing Gonzalez's statements when he pleaded guilty.
Gonzalez later gave the girl free cocaine and she then began purchasing it from him, prosecutors said. On Sept. 16, 2025, according to prosecutors, Gonzalez provided the girl with cocaine in exchange for sexual intercourse.
He was arrested two months later, after the girl's family reported him to authorities.
The district attorney's office asked anyone who thinks they or their child has been victimized by Gonzalez, to contact the Suffolk County Police Department at 631-854-8451.
