A Hauppauge woman was arrested and charged with first-degree grand larceny for allegedly boosting her paychecks, stealing more than $1 million from her employer over a nearly five-year span.

Between November 2020 and August 2025, Sharon Blinn, 65, stole from the Holbrook corporation that employed her as an office manager, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said in a news release.

Blinn "siphoned off thousands of dollars, week by week" by bolstering her paychecks beyond the value to which she was entitled and without permission from the company, the district attorney said. He did not identify her employer.

"Simply put, greed drove this defendant’s alleged theft of more than a million dollars from her employer," Tierney added in a statement.

Blinn pleaded not guilty on Friday before Supreme Court Justice John Collins at Suffolk County Court in Riverhead, according to court records. Collins ordered her held on $25,000 cash bail, $250,000 bond or $250,000 partially secured surety bond.

Joseph Hanshe, the defense attorney representing Blinn, did not immediately respond to requests for comment Friday afternoon.

Blinn is scheduled to return to court on April 24 2026, Tierney said. If convicted, she faces up to 8 ⅓ to 25 years in prison.
