Portions of the Wantagh State Parkway will be closed during overnight hours for about two weeks as crews complete drainage work, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Drivers also will see delays beginning next week along the Nassau Expressway for asphalt repavement as well as on a Northern State Parkway exit ramp for highway maintenance, the agency announced.
The closures on the Wantagh State Parkway begin Tuesday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. The northbound parkway will be closed between Old Country Road and the Northern State Parkway. Drivers will be detoured for access to the westbound and eastbound Northern State Parkway, according to the state DOT.
The southbound portion of the highway will be reduced to one lane between Exit W1 at Brush Hollow Road and Exit W2 at Old Country Road on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. That will also last about two weeks, according to the state DOT.
Additionally, the Exit 31A ramp from the eastbound Northern State Parkway that leads to the southbound Meadowbrook State Parkway will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.
Drivers will be detoured onto Exit 30 to southbound Glen Cove Road.
Both directions of Nassau Expressway, or State Route 878, will be closed starting Monday between Burnside Avenue and the Atlantic Beach Bridge in the Village of Lawrence. The closures will be from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and last about six weeks to complete the asphalt pavement resurfacing project, according to the state DOT.
The agency will set up electronic message signs near the work zone to alert drivers of the detours and any additional information.
The construction work is weather-dependent and may change, according to the agency.
