Four occupants of a home in East Meadow were displaced following an overnight fire, in which two adults and one child were transported to nearby Nassau University Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The fire at the home on Bellmore Road was reported at about 2:35 a.m. Friday, fire officials said.

About 50 firefighters from East Meadow, Wantagh and North Bellmore responded to the scene and brought the fire under control within 20 minutes. But officials said the blaze left the home without electrical power and said that and other fire damage rendered the home uninhabitable for now.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the fire marshal's office and the Nassau police's arson/bomb squad.
