Eastbound LIE reopens at Exit 40E in Nassau County following crash

The eastbound Long Island Expressway in Jericho has reopened following a Tuesday afternoon crash involving multiple vehicles, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

The crash occurred about 3:07 p.m., a police department spokesperson told Newsday. While injuries were sustained in the crash, it was not immediately clear how many people were involved or the severity.

All lanes of the eastbound highway had been closed at Exit 40E leading to Jericho Turnpike while the department investigated the collision.
