No one injured in partial collapse of unoccupied building in Mineola, police say

A portion of an office building collapsed in Mineola early Saturday afternoon, drawing a response from Nassau police and area fire departments.
The collapse at 158 Third St. was reported at 12:12 p.m., according to a Nassau police department spokesman. Police said the two-story building was not occupied at the time and no injuries were reported.
Photos from the scene showed emergency personnel assessing the building and a pile of bricks and debris that had fallen from the facade.
Police said the owner of the building had been contacted to make the necessary repairs. It’s unclear what caused the collapse.
