Robbery in South Hempstead leaves male victim in critical condition, police say

Nassau police say they are investigating after one person is in critical condition following a robbery in South Hempstead on Saturday morning.
The robbery was reported around 5:27 a.m. near the intersection of May Street and Grand Avenue, according to a Nassau County Police Department news release.

Officers who responded to the scene found a male victim with head injuries, the release said. He was transported to a hospital and was listed in critical condition.
Police did not immediately have more information about the robbery.
