Firefighters respond to blaze at Stuey's Smokehouse BBQ in Locust Valley

A popular Birch Hill Road barbecue restaurant will be closed for the immediate future after the Locust Valley Fire Department responded to a blaze at the eatery Monday night, according to the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office.
The fire was reported at 10:10 p.m. at Stuey’s Smokehouse BBQ, a one-story restaurant in Locust Valley, and brought under control in about 25 minutes, officials said.
There were no injuries reported.
Members of the Glen Cove, Bayville and Sea Cliff fire departments assisted, investigators said.
Terry Morabito, the owner of Stuey’s, told Newsday the restaurant was closed and unoccupied at the time of the blaze.
"At this time, we can't reopen," Morabito said Tuesday, adding he is unaware of the cause of the fire. "I'm not sure yet when we can reopen."
The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the fire marshal, fire investigators and the Nassau County Police Department's Arson Bomb Squad.
