Parts of Sunrise Highway will be closed beginning Tuesday as workers fix pavement on the roadway in Hempstead Town.

The New York State Department of Transportation said two lanes of eastbound State Route 27, between the Queens and Nassau County border and Harrison Avenue in the Town of Hempstead, will be closed from Sunday through Friday, 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., according to a travel advisory.

The construction is expected to last four weeks and will be weather dependent.

Motorists should slow down and express caution for highway workers, the DOT said.
