BACKGROUND

• Piccirillo, 42, of Holtsville, a registered Republican, is seeking a fourth term in the Suffolk County Legislature. He is running on the Republican and Conservative lines 
• First elected in November, 2019, Piccirillo has served as chair of the legislature’s Government Operations Committee, its capital budget working group and its investigations committee.
• He attended Dowling College.

ISSUES

• Piccirillo said preserving open space in the county and preventing overdevelopment is among his chief concerns in office.
• He’s a co-sponsor of the recently approved Working Waterfront bill, a waterfront protection program to guard against threats from development, and plans to have an important role in its work in coming years.
• He said he's a public safety advocate, and want to make sure "as police retire we’re filling the ranks behind them."
