BACKGROUND

  • Richberg, 43, of West Babylon, a registered Democrat, was elected in 2020 to the county legislature, where he currently serves as minority leader. 
  • He was a clerk for the county legislature from 2015 to 2020. Before that, he was chief of staff for county Legis. DuWayne Gregory.
  • He earned a bachelor’s in political science from Wilberforce University and a master’s in organizational leadership from Claremont Lincoln University.

ISSUES

  • Richberg said his top priorities for this term are improving water quality and advancing infrastructure upgrades.
  • He’s also keen on promoting economic development and affordability, and continuing to invest in housing infrastructure.
  • Doing so, he said, "will help young people [so they] can afford to stay and build their futures on Long Island — keeping Suffolk County a great place to live, work, and play."
