BACKGROUND

  • Troiano, 72, of Westbury, a registered Democrat, first served on the town board from 2004-10 to 2010 before getting elected to the Nassau County Legislature, where he served from 2011 to 2014. He is running on the Democratic Party line. 
  • He was reelected to the town board in 2021 and represents Carle Place, New Cassel, Old Westbury and Westbury.
  • Troiano earned an undergraduate degree from Brown University in psychology and sociology and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University.

ISSUES

  • Troiano said he would like the town to address its backlog in sidewalk repair and tree removal by hiring additional highway department staff.
  • He said he wants to help develop the area around North Hempstead Beach Park into a destination for recreation and entertainment. 
  • Troiano said he wants to add two full-time code enforcement officers.
