BACKGROUND

  • Donnelly, 60, of Deer Park, is a registered Democrat and is running on the Democratic and Conservative party lines in the general election. He is seeking a fifth term. He was first elected in 2017 and is a former Town of Babylon Planning Board member and councilman.
  • He is a retired FDNY lieutenant, with 30 years of service and is in his 40th year of service with the Deer Park fire department.
  • He earned an associate degree from Suffolk County Community College and a bachelor of science degree from Saint Joseph’s College.

ISSUES

  • Donnelly said he will continue to focus on public safety, constituent service, quality-of-life issues and the advancement of sewers in District 17.
  • He said he will work in a bipartisan manner with elected officials on all levels.
  • He said his list of priorities also includes public infrastructure improvements, affordable housing and the Water Quality referendum.
