LI gas station accidentally showers customers, employees with fire suppressant

Firefighters responded to an East Farmingdale gas station Friday morning after the facility’s fire suppression system deployed a white agent.
The East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company responded to a 9:39 a.m. call for a "discharged" fire suppression system at a Mobil station on Route 109, a Suffolk County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services official said.
Several cars and gas pumps present during the discharge appeared caked in a white substance while Suffolk police officers were on scene, according to Newsday photographs of the scene.
An employee who answered the phone at the gas station's Bolla Market convenience store Friday afternoon said the gas station was currently closed for repairs following the incident. The person hung up when asked how long repairs may take.
A dispatcher for the spokesperson for the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company declined to speak with Newsday when reached by telephone. The department's spokesperson could not be reached.
It was not immediately known Friday afternoon if anyone was injured during the incident.
