Police: 2 killed in fiery crash near Exit 70 on Long Island Expressway

Two people were killed in a fiery one-car crash on the Long Island Expressway Saturday night, Suffolk police said.
An eastbound 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt veered off the highway near Exit 70 in Manorville and crashed into the woods shortly after 10 p.m., police said in a news release. The car caught fire when it crashed, police said.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. After the fire was extinguished, the passenger was pronounced dead, police said.
The identities of the driver and the passenger had not been confirmed by Sunday morning, the police said in the release.
