Car crashes into pole in Huntington Station; 2 in their 90s hospitalized

Two Huntington residents in their 90s are in serious condition after crashing into a utility pole on Friday evening, according to Suffolk County police.
The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of Pulaski Road and New York Avenue in Huntington Station. George Falkowski, 90, was driving a 2011 Honda east on Pulaski Road when his vehicle went onto the sidewalk, hit the side of a 2020 Mercedes and crashed into a metal pole, police said in a news release.
Both he and his passenger, 92-year-old Anita Falkowski, were taken to Huntington Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, 56-year-old Marie Fond-Rose, was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries. She was stopped at a red light at the intersection when her car was struck.
Suffolk County police impounded both cars for safety checks and are investigating the crash. Anyone with information can call the agency at 631-854-8252, according to the news release.
