Shirley woman struck by car on Dawn Drive, seriously injured Saturday morning

A Shirley woman was seriously injured on Saturday morning when she was struck by a car while walking along a roadway, Suffolk County police said.
Theresa Nicke, 64, of Shirley, was walking on the right shoulder of Dawn Drive in Shirley when she was struck around 7:30 a.m. by an eastbound 2013 Buick Regal near Pinelawn Avenue, police said in a news release.
Nicke was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said. The driver, Dale Cronin, 23, of Shirley, was not injured, police said.
Cronin’s vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said. Suffolk police are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
