Between May and December, tens of thousands of motorists in Suffolk were captured by school bus cameras for purportedly failing to stop, yielding roughly $12.1 million in revenue, according to county officials.

In 2021, there were 85,608 school-bus-camera violations since the program began issuing fines in May, according to a report created by BusPatrol America, the Virginia-based contractor that operates the program.

BusPatrol also released the top 20 citation locations. These represent 8% of all ticketing locations, according to Jean Soulière, chief executive officer of BusPatrol.
