Normal service resumed Tuesday morning following heavy delays on the Long Island Rail Road's Babylon Branch, the result of a person struck on the tracks in Rockville Centre.

The incident suspended all service on the line for more than an hour Tuesday morning. Normal service resumed after the rush hour, the MTA said.

During the height of the morning commute, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority was reporting at least five westbound morning rush-hour trains — three from Babylon, two from Wantagh — had been canceled. Two trains to Babylon — the 6:11 a.m. from Grand Central Terminal; the 6:27 a.m. from Penn Station — also had been canceled.

At least four other trains, three of them westbound, were being delayed as long as 45 minutes, while others were being delayed by at least 15 minutes.

The MTA did not immediately provide information on the morning train strike, other than to report a person had been struck by a train at the Rockville Centre station.
