A Floral Park man has been identified as the victim of a fatal collision in Westchester on Monday, New York State Police said.

Pankaj R. Bakshi, 50, was driving a 2025 Chevrolet Suburban north just before 6 a.m. on the New York State Thruway section of I-95 when he stopped the vehicle in the left travel lane in the village of Port Chester. It was unclear why Bakshi stopped.

Another northbound 2025 Chevrolet Suburban then struck Bakshi’s vehicle, police said.

Police said lifesaving measures were attempted at the scene before Bakshi was taken to Greenwich Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the second Chevrolet Suburban was treated for minor injuries and released.

Police identified Bakshi early Wednesday. No further information was immediately available.
