The remnants of Hurricane Isaias will mean a soggy start to Monday on Long Island, with gradual clearing by the afternoon and a high of about 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain and possible thunderstorms overnight are likely to continue through 5 a.m. on Monday but there will still be a chance of more precipitation through about 8 a.m.
"There could be a couple of leftover showers early in the morning," weather service meteorologist Brian Ciemnecki told Newsday. "However, we should see those showers push south of Long Island during the mid- to late morning."
As the remnants of Isaias move away from the area, Ciemnecki said, sunny skies will follow.

The storm made landfall Friday on the Florida Panhandle. It caused widespread damage before moving north and inland.
The Long Island Fall Festival at Heckscher Park in Huntington, which began Friday and continued Saturday, was forced by Sunday's rain to rescheduled its meatball eating contest to Monday.
Ciemnecki said Tuesday will continue the trend of sunny and dry weather, but with a chance of showers at night.
Wednesday and Thursday will also be mostly clear, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s, according to the weather service.
