The 19th District includes Massapequa and North Massapequa.
There are two names on the ballot for this seat in the legislature, but voters don't have much of a choice.
"There's just no way of winning," said Christine Barlow, a Massapequa Democrat who is not actively campaigning because of the heavily Republican registration of the area.
Barlow, 55, has volunteered for national campaigns. Locally, she thinks her district's needs are met.
Incumbent James D. Kennedy, 54, did not meet with the editorial board. The Massapequa Republican has served in the legislature since 2015, but does not lead on any issue. His record is slim. Hosting a handful of workshops for residents is not enough.
