The 10th District includes northwestern Nassau from Kings Point south to Lake Success, Great Neck and parts of Roslyn, Manhasset and Searingtown.

Republican incumbent Mazi Melesa Pilip, 47, of Great Neck, first took office in 2022. In response to anti-Israel protests, she successfully sponsored a bill making it a misdemeanor to wear face coverings in public except for health and religious reasons. Pilip did not speak out when Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman carved out an exemption to the law for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents working in Nassau. She did not meet with the editorial board.

The Democratic challenger, Skylar A. Epstein, 26, of Great Neck, speaks of a generational frustration that government doesn't work for them, specifically noting the lack of help for young people trying to afford housing on Long Island. He is concerned about the environment and rising antisemitism. But Epstein, a law student, doesn't yet have a grasp of how a local legislator can effectively address those issues.
