Long Island real estate prices continue to climb as inventory dwindles at historic lows.
In March, the median sale price for a single-family homes was $849,000 in Nassau County and $700,000 in Suffolk, according to data released by OneKey MLS. Meanwhile, there were 527 closed sales in Nassau and 666 in Suffolk, the multiple listing service reported.
How many bedrooms do those price points command in each county? Newsday analyzed closed sales data for 2026 so far to find out.
In Nassau, four-bedroom homes have commanded closed sales, data shows. There were 672 four-bedroom homes sold, compared to 597 three-bedroom homes. Median sale prices jumped to $1.32 million for five-bedroom homes, based on 271 closed sales.
According to the data, 856 three-bedroom homes have sold in Suffolk, compared to 809 four-bedroom homes and 308 five-bedroom homes. Five-bed homes sold for a median of $796,250.
