Here's a fact you won't find under your cap: "The Snapple House" will be up for auction next month.

The waterfront estate in Hewlett Bay Park will be presented by Concierge Auctions on Nov. 6. Initial bids are estimated to start somewhere between $3.5 million and $5 million.

The property hit the market back in April for $15 million, with taxes of $86,163. The 11,000-square-foot estate once belonged to the co-founder of the Snapple Beverage Corporation, Hyman Golden. He lived there with his wife, Mitzi Golden, and the estate has remained in the family for decades.

The listing is held by Shawn Elliott, Zach Elliott and Richard Golden, of Nest Seekers International Ultra Luxury Division. Golden is the grandchild of Hyman and Mitzi Golden.

"We had a very good reaction from everyone that came to see it," Zach Elliott said.

Richard Golden believes the auction process will move the "Snapple House" to the finish line.

"This was just another instrument to keep building momentum and get more leads and more offers," he said.

The storied estate is "a piece of art," said Shawn Elliott, so an auction is "the best format" for a property like this. Beyond its history, its double lot and grand exterior make it a standout in the neighborhood.

"When you pull up, you could be in the south of France," he said.

Andrew Cohen, an auction specialist at Concierge Auctions, said he anticipates "lots of excitement" around the estate: "This property has only been on the market for a brief period of time, and now it will have all these new eyes on it."

The auction house's platform has a national and international audience who may not have otherwise seen the "Snapple House," he added.

The house sits on more than 2 acres on Veeder Drive. It contains five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, along with a private dock, poolside cabana, elevator and a temperature-controlled wine cellar.

Early bidding is now open on the Concierge Auctions website. Registration for bidders will end on Nov. 5, and the auction will close on Nov. 20.
