A zero-bedroom home in Selden, which garnered plenty of attention when it first came on the market in March, sold for $275,000 — about $50,000 below its original list price.
The closing took place Sept. 24, according to the listing on OneKey MLS.
The house first hit the market at a price of $329,000. It dropped to $295,000 in May, then changed to $274,500 in June, listing records show.
There was buzz about the home from the beginning because of the specs on its Zillow listing. It read: "0 beds, 1 bath, 446 square feet." Social media users and national news outlets picked up on it, fascinated by the layout.
Listing agent Denise Beckman, of HomeSmart Dynamic Realty, told Newsday in March: “This is the smallest house I've ever sold.”
There are four rooms on the main floor (a kitchen, living room, bathroom and dining room) and a basement that is not fully underground, Beckman said at the time. The seller had tenants living in the home and later moved in himself, the agent told Newsday.
As for a bedroom, the homebuyer could convert the basement by adding an egress window, or take over the room that had been used as a dining area.
The taxes were listed as $3,747. The home sits on a 0.12-acre lot in the Middle Country Central School District.
Beckman could not immediately be reached for comment.
Homes with small footprints like this one can be found throughout Long Island, and this year sellers took advantage of a market in their favor by listing them at competitive price points.
But this sale is an anomaly in the area: The median price of a single-family home in Suffolk County rose to $760,000 in August — a new record, up 7% from August 2025, according to OneKey MLS data.
