The Mets will honor retiring radio broadcaster Howie Rose with a pregame ceremony before their regular season home finale on Sept. 20, the team announced on Thursday.

Rose, 72, is not covering road games this season, except for three at Yankee Stadium next month, so he will miss the team’s final road trip of 2026.

In the unlikely event the Mets make the playoffs, Rose would call those games on 880-AM. But the team went into Thursday 10 games back of the final National League wild card spot.

Rose said last week he wouldn’t rule out filling in for a game or two on the radio in future seasons if the opportunity presented itself.

But as of now, Sept. 20 will be Rose’s final game as a regular Mets broadcaster.
