LI college roundup: Adelphi wins in three different sports

Madison Apicella scored the game-winner in the 73rd minute to lead host Adelphi over Bentley, 2-1, in women’s soccer on Saturday afternoon in the Northeast-10.
Kayleigh Goodrich scored the first goal. Apicella and Goodrich each dished out an assist. Emily Aridas made seven saves for the Panthers (4-2, 2-1).
Molloy 4, St. Thomas Aquinas 0: Emma Beattie, Mikaela Barriga, Madison Keegan and Jana Strait, each scored a goal for host Molloy in the ECC. Elyse Muñoz made a save for the Lions (6-2-2, 2-0-1).
UMSV 2, Farmingdale State 0: Hailey Stork made six saves for host Farmingdale State in the Skyline contest.
Paulina Fonfara led the team in shots with one for the Rams (4-8-1, 3-1).
MEN’S SOCCER
Southern New Hampshire 2, Adelphi 1: Andrea Farinella made seven saves for visiting Adelphi in Northeast-10. Rory Duggan scored a goal. Duggan, Sam Nolan and Stephen Betz each took two shots for the Panthers (3-3-2).
St. Thomas Aquinas 4, Molloy 2: Danu Kinsella Bishop scored two goals for host Molloy in the ECC. Matt Starr dished out an assist. Callum Hunt made four saves for the Lions (1-3-4, 0-1-2).
UMSV 3, Farmingdale State 0: Andronicus Chavez made four saves for visiting Farmingdale State in the Skyline. Josue Correa led the Rams (2-6-3, 1-1-3) in shots with three.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Stony Brook 3, William & Mary 0: Kali Moore had 15 kills and 10 digs to lead host Stony Brook 25-21, 27-25, 25-23 in the CAA. Quinn Anderson had 12 kills and a dig. Ava Zamora had 33 assists, and Zayda Fuertez contributed 11 digs for the Seawolves (8-7, 4-2).
Hofstra 3, Elon 0: Clara Simmons and Catherine Ruckers both had nine kills to lead host Hofstra 25-19, 28-26, 25-17 in the CAA. Simren Carlsen contributed five kills and six digs. April Rice and Kayla Palmer both had 14 assists for the Pride (10-2, 3-2).
Adelphi 3, Assumption 0: Macarty McQueen had 11 kills and 13 digs to lead visiting Adelphi, 25-12, 25-11, 25-17. in Northeast-10. Mackenzie Casey had eight kills while Madeleine Chaapel and Elena Covic both had seven kills. Ana Carolina Westerich had 33 assists for the Panthers (11-6, 1-0).
UConn 3, St. John’s 1: Ella Parker had 16 kills for St. John’s, which lost, 23-25, 25-22, 20-25, 19-25, in the Big East. Martina Ghezzi had 14 kills. Roshanny Solano Smith had 17 digs, and Erin Jones had 14 digs for the Red Storm (5-12, 1-3).
FIELD HOCKEY
Adelphi 1, St. Anselm 0: Caroline Beakes scored a goal to host Adelphi in the Northeast-10. Sydney Rossacci dished out an assist. Allison Gregory made six saves for the Panthers (4-3, 5-0).
St. Thomas Aquinas 3, Molloy 2: Catherin Amini and Farah Amarando both scored a goal for host Molloy (1-8, 0-5) in Northeast-10. Kayla Balsamo made six saves for the Lions (1-6).
