Chris Zellous ran for three touchdowns and threw for another in Stony Brook’s 47-12 win over host Albany on Saturday afternoon in the CAA. Zellous had 31 yards on 10 carries and had touchdowns of 28, 1 and 1 yards. His 28-yard score with 13:14 left in the third quarter gave the Seawolves a 17-6 lead. Zellous completed 20 of 30 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown.

Stony Brook scored 20 straight points to put the game out of reach. Zellous’ final touchdown run — a 1-yard score with 13:13 left in the fourth quarter — gave Stony Brook a 37-6 lead.

Roland Dempster had 105 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. His 8-yard touchdown run with 3:32 left in the first quarter gave Stony Brook a 7-3 lead.

Stony Brook (3-3, 1-1) outgained Albany, 473-198. Dyshier Clary, Aidan Kaler and Anthony Ferrelli all made five tackles to lead the Seawolves. Clary, Franco Milano and A.J Roberts all had sacks and Bryson Parker had an interception.

Colin Parachek completed 5 of 18 passes for 82 yards and an interception for Albany (1-5, 0-2). Aidan Semo threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Jasiah Barron with 11:57 left in the game to cut the Stony Brook lead to 37-12.

Mercyhurst 22, LIU 13: Evan Van Dyke caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Adam Urena with 8:21 left to give host Mercyhurst a 22-13 lead and halt LIU’s comeback attempt in the NEC. The Sharks fell behind 15-0 in the second quarter before two field goals from Will Johnson and a 24-yard touchdown pass from Chris Howell to Jaron Kelley cut the deficit to 15-13 with 59 seconds left in the third quarter.

Howell completed 15 of 27 passes for 167 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. He was the Sharks’ leading rusher, gaining 32 yards on six carries. Deion Richardson caught three passes for 57 yards for LIU (1-5, 0-2). Urena completed 24 of 31 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown for Mercyhurst (2-4, 1-0).

USMMA 6, MIT 3: Karson Bye hit two field goals, including a 44 yarder with 4:41 left to lift USMMA in the NEWMAC. Bye’s 41-yard field goal at the end of the first half tied the score at 3. Bubba Mustain completed 4 of 6 passes for 61 yards and an interception and ran for 58 yards on 19 carries for USMMA (4-0, 2-0).
