Former St. John's guard Oziyah Sellers joins Knicks for NBA Summer League

Oziyah Sellers is the latest St. John's player to chase his NBA dreams.
The Knicks officially announced their roster for the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, and it includes the sharpshooting guard along with two members of their NBA championship squad and several other young players looking for their shot at a roster.

Sellers hit a team-high 53 three-pointers and shot 35.1% from three last season as St. John's repeated as Big East champions and reached the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the first time since 1999. He also had a 7:1 assist-to-turnover ratio in his lone season with the Red Storm.
Three of Sellers' St. John's teammates were picked in last week's NBA draft: Zuby Ejiofor (23rd overall to the Atlanta Hawks), Dillon Mitchell (40th overall to the Boston Celtics) and Bryce Hopkins (49th overall to the Denver Nuggets).
The Knicks have plenty of guard depth, having brought back both Jose Alvarado and Landry Shamet before the start of free agency along with Jalen Brunson and Deuce McBride. So while a path to a roster spot might be tough with the Knicks, a good showing in Las Vegas could help Sellers earn a spot on another team's roster elsewhere or possibly a G League opportunity.
The Knicks begin their NBA Summer League schedule on July 10 against the Nets. The Knicks' roster also features 2024 first-rounder Pacome Dadiet and 2025 first-rounder Mo Diawara, who agreed to a four-year extension worth $10 million earlier this offseason.
