The Giants will hire Dawn Aponte as their next senior vice president of football operations, a league source confirmed to Newsday.
Aponte was the NFL’s chief administrator of football operations since 2017 and was the highest-ranking woman in the league’s football operations. She replaces Kevin Abrams, who the Giants parted ways with last month.
Prior to working with the league, Aponte worked for the Dolphins from 2010-16. She was first a senior vice president of football operations before becoming executive vice president of football administration in 2012.
Her tenure with the Dolphins also overlapped with Giants general manager Joe Schoen, who worked in the team’s front office from 2008-16.
Aponte also worked with the Jets from 1994-2005 in several capacities, including as their salary cap analyst from 2001-03 and senior director of football administration. She also spent two seasons as the Browns’ vice president of football administration (2009-10) and interviewed for the Chargers' general manager vacancy in 2024.
