John Harbaugh confirms Giants QB Jaxson Dart to have knee surgery, ending his 'regular season'

Jaxson Dart’s second "regular season" is over as the Giants quarterback is expected to undergo season-ending knee surgery, John Harbaugh confirmed Wednesday.
ESPN reported that in addition to Dart suffering an MCL injury in his left knee, he also injured his PCL and meniscus. It confirmed the worst case scenario for Dart, who was hurt in the first quarter of Monday's loss at the Rams.
Dart had surgery for a meniscus injury to his right knee in 2021 while a freshman at USC. He missed five games, but this current injury is more severe given the ligament damage.
Jameis Winston will take over quarterback duties starting Sunday against the Titans at MetLife Stadium. Jake Haener, currently on the practice squad, is slated to be the backup, although the Giants could also look to add a third quarterback.
Since the start of the 2025 season, the Giants are 0-5 in games Dart did not start.
