Stick Stars: Top Long Island boys and girls lacrosse performances this week

BOYS LACROSSE
JAXON BINKIS, Riverhead
Binkis’ scoop-and-score off a ground ball came as time expired in a 13-12 win over Whitman.
LUCIANO BLANCO, Glen Cove
Blanco not only had a game-high six points — with five goals and an assist against Freeport — but he also scored the winner in overtime.
BRAYDON CIPP and ANDERS JOHNSEN, Bellport
Bellport earned its first win of the season behind nine and eight-point performances from Johnsen and Cipp, respectively, against West Babylon. Christian Reyes earned a shoutout after winning 26 of his 30 faceoffs.
FRANK DiPALO, Harborfields
DiPalo, a goalie, had the play of the week, scoring a buzzer-beating goal at the end of the third quarter against Sayville from just outside his own cage. He made 16 saves in the 12-10 win.
CAMERON JAMES, Smithtown East
Smithtown East and Center Moriches met Thursday — two teams that held 6-1 records — and James made sure the former came out on top with a seven-goal performance.
ANDREW LIMBURG, Manhasset
Manhasset’s defense allowed just three goals against good teams in Long Beach and Port Washington, with Limburg making 13 saves against the latter in a 7-1 win.
OWEN MADDEN, East Islip
Madden scored the winner against Comsewogue in the fourth overtime period and followed it up with a five-goal, one-assist performance against Bayport-Blue Point.
GIRLS LACROSSE
SYDNEY ABBOTT, Oceanside
Abbott scored seven goals and assisted on two more against Division, just two days after scoring three goals in a win over Mepham.
CAITLIN BARNES and OLIVIA PUE, Islip
The duo had six points apiece — with Barnes scoring six goals and Pue scoring one with five assists — against Shoreham-Wading River. Barnes also won eight draw controls.

FRANCESCA CURATOLO, New Hyde Park
Curatolo scored 16 of her team’s 31 goals against Baldwin, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK and Carey. That includes the game-winning overtime goal against POB JFK.
CASSIDY HANLEY and TAYLOR LaGREGA, Bellport
Hanley had a whopping 11 goals with an assist, and LaGrega added eight goals and two assists in a 23-15 win over East Hampton/Bridgehampton/Pierson.
KRISTIN LICHTENSTEIN, Bellmore JFK
It took four overtime periods to decide a winner between Bellmore JFK and Floral Park, with Lichtenstein’s third goal of the game the difference. She also had two assists.
KENNEDY MURNANE, Plainedge
She scored five goals and assisted another in an 8-5 win against Calhoun, and followed it up with three goals and an assist in a 9-7 win over Port Washington.
BROOKE SULLIVAN-PAGANO and CATHERINE PERRUCCI, Hicksville
In wins against Bellmore JFK and Baldwin, Sullivan-Pagano and Perrucci each had a combined nine goals and four assists. Hicksville holds a five-game winning streak.
