Long Island's Stick Stars: Top boys and girls lacrosse performers this week

BOYS LACROSSE
Connor Batterberry, Sayville
Batterberry had eight goals and three assists this week combined against No. 2 Shoreham-Wading River and No. 1 Mount Sinai to help the Golden Flashes lift a county title.
John Calabria and Patrick Gandley, Sachem North
Calabria’s four goals and two assists, and Handley’s 14 saves — allowing seven goals — versus No. 1. Northport gave Sachem North its first county title since 1995, which had come as a combined school.
Thomas Kenny, Babylon
He had 15 saves against No. 3 Center Moriches and 11 saves against No. 1 Bayport-Blue Point, allowing six goals in each.
Luke Martini, Wantagh
Martini tallied four goals and five assists against No. 5 North Shore to send top-seeded Wantagh one step closer to the program’s third consecutive county title.
Alex Notaro, South Side
Notaro won all but one of his 22 faceoff attempts in No. 2 South Side’s Class C semifinal win over No. 3 Seaford.
Ben Smith, Garden City
Twelve different Trojans had a point in No. 1 Garden City’s 15-6 win over No. 5 Roslyn. Smith led the pack with three goals and two assists.
CJ Stein, Smithtown East
Stein made 11 saves, including six in the fourth quarter, to keep No. 1 Smithtown East alive in its county final win over No. 3 West Islip.
Josh Weisenfeld, Syosset
No. 1 Syosset is a win away from its first county title since 2021 after Weisenfeld’s 14-save game against No. 4 Farmingdale.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Savanna Appleton, Massapequa
Massapequa defended its county title, with Appleton’s four goals and four assists lifting No. 1 Massapequa past No. 3 Syosset.
Maiya Boughal, Westhampton
Boughal led all players with three goals as No. 4 Westhampton had the upset of the week, beating top-seeded West Islip, 8-6, in the semifinal round.
DeLaney Busch and RyLeigh Busch, Babylon
The dynamic duo combined for seven goals and eight assists in a 17-13 win over No. 3 Mattituck.
Taylor Cavanaugh, Harborfields
Cavanaugh had two goals and assisted five more for No. 2 Harborfields in its 10-7 win over No. 3 Shoreham-Wading River.

Ashley Clark, Garden City
Clark’s second goal of the game proved to be the difference for the Trojans against No. 2 Manhasset, coming with 1:30 left in the contest.
Juliet Diorio, South Side
Diorio’s third goal of the game with 2.3 seconds left lifted No. 1 South Side past No. 2 Wantagh, 8-7, in the Nassau Class C championship.
Kaitlin Millet and Olivia Mulada, Cold Spring Harbor
The top-seeded Seahawks beat No. 2 Carle Place, 17-3, as Millet and Mulada both had three goals and an assist.
Olivia Puccio and Valentina Puccio, Huntington
The Puccio sisters both had a game-high four points apiece for No. 2 Huntington in a double-overtime win over No. 3 Northport in the Suffolk Class A semifinal.
