1. St. Anthony’s (1)

The Friars (12-4) wrapped up their season with a 13-12 win over Chaminade in the state CHSAA Class AAA championship game on May 13.

2. Chaminade (2)

Chaminade (13-5) finished its season with its loss to St. Anthony’s. Despite the rough conclusion, first-year head coach Greg Kay and the Flyers maintained the high bar they held under Chaminade legend Jack Moran.

3. Garden City (3)

Garden City (17-2) only lost to New Jersey’s 16-win St. Augustine Prep in the regular season and Manhasset in overtime in the county final, both losses by a single goal. The Trojans beat powerhouses like Wantagh, Massapequa, Syosset, Cold Spring Harbor and Manhasset in the regular season, all by at least four goals.

4. Massapequa (5)

Massapequa (19-3) became state Class A champions for the first time since 2019 with a 19-9 win over West Genesee after topping Mamaroneck and Sachem North prior. No team on Long Island averaged more goals per game than Massapequa’s 16.3 goals per game behind the trio of Tyler Byrnes, Rocco Spallina and Nolan Wieczorek.

5. Cold Spring Harbor (7)

Cold Spring Harbor (18-3) overcame a Marcellus team that averaged 16.7 goals per game as the Seahawks won, 11-9, in the state Class D title game. Wins over Bayport-Blue Point and Bronxville got Cold Spring Harbor back where it was so used to being, as the Seahawks lifted their fourth state title in five years.

6. Manhasset (9)

There’s an unkillable nature to this Manhasset team that won three straight one-goal games before defeating Victor, 10-7, in the state Class B championship. “Pure grit” is a popular phrase used by Manhasset (18-4), and it played to the mantra as well as anyone.

7. Wantagh (6)

Wantagh (16-4) won back-to-back Long Island Class C titles for the first time in program history, beating Sayville, 12-11. But Wantagh fell to eventual state champions in Rye in the state semifinal round, 10-8. This senior class helped create a winning culture, and that’ll last longer than any disappointment will.

8. Sachem North (9)

Sachem North fell to Massapequa, 19-6, in the Long Island Class A championship game to end a historic season. For the first time as a non-combined Sachem team, Sachem North (16-4) won a county title and it returns several standouts like Johnny Calabria, Luke LaRocca, Tyler Jerome and Lucas Bouchard in 2027.

9. Syosset (4)

Syosset (16-3) overcame Massapequa in the regular season but struggled in the county final to the tune of a 19-5 loss. From the dynamic duo of Brody Waxer and Gio Accardo to Josh Weisenfeld’s steadiness in the cage, plenty of seniors will be missed in 2027.

10. Northport (10)

Northport (16-3) lost to Sachem North in the Suffolk Class A championship, 12-7. Greyson Cabrera and Luke Loiacano enjoyed fantastic senior seasons, continuing a standard the Tigers have set for themselves with a stellar 103-15 record over the last six seasons.
