Stick stars: The top Long Island boys and girls lacrosse performances

BOYS LACROSSE
JOSH BERGER and GAVIN RYBACK, Roslyn
Berger scored seven goals and assisted another for Roslyn against Lynbrook. Ryback added five goals and three assists.
SEAN CASEY, Sayville
Sayville allowed five consecutive goals to start the game against Bayport-Blue Point, but Casey’s dominance at the faceoff X — winning 18 of 21 attempts — made a 10-8 comeback win possible.
CHARLIE CONWAY, Long Beach
Conway delivered Long Beach’s golden goal in double overtime against MacArthur, capping off a five-goal game. He added a team-high three goals against Mepham.
HERSON FLORES, Brentwood
Flores won the opening faceoff in overtime against West Babylon and scored his fourth goal of the game seconds later.
CHRIS PRAINITO, Harborfields
Prainito had four goals and six assists in an impressive win against East Islip. It’s been a brilliant start to the year for the Hurricanes, who sit 5-0.
JOHNNY NESSLER, MacArthur
The freshman tied a program record with an eight-goal game that included what proved to be the game-winning score with 2:45 remaining for MacArthur in its 15-14 win over Seaford.
NICO SPALLINA, Stony Brook School
The Bears are back and already 5-0, led by Spallina’s 22 goals and 13 assists. He has at least six points in every game.
ROCCO SPALLINA and NOLAN WIECZOREK, Massapequa
Spallina had seven goals and an assist, and Wieczorek had four goals and four assists to lift Massapequa past powerhouse Wantagh.
GIRLS LACROSSE
ANNA CHRISTIE, St. Anthony’s
Penfield could not contain Christie, who had seven goals and four assists for the Friars.
ISABELLA FIORELLI, Whitman
Whitman may have lost to Riverhead, but the Wildcats witnessed an all-time performance as Fiorelli scored a program-record 12 goals and assisted on another. According to NYSPHSAA’s records, she is the fifth Long Islander to record at least 12 goals in a game.
GRACE MILLER, Bethpage
Her five goals lifted Bethpage to an 11-7 win over Plainedge. Miller has a whopping 32 goals through six games.
MICHAELA MOLGANO, Garden City
Her four goals and five assists helped the Trojans notch a win over Farmingdale. Molgano also scored five goals against Baltimore’s Glenelg.
NORA RUDDY, Harborfields
Ruddy preserved Harborfields’ undefeated start to the season, scoring her fifth goal with five seconds remaining in a 13-12 comeback win over Comsewogue. She also had two assists.

JULIE SHAUGHNESSY, Syosset
Shaughnessy had a hand in eight of Syosset’s 14 goals against Locust Valley, finishing with six goals and two assists.
EVELYN SKOPP, Riverhead
Skopp’s six goals helped Riverhead hold off Whitman in a 31-goal thriller.
DYLAN WOLF, Friends Academy
Wolf lifted Friends Academy past Glen Cove, recording a goal, two assists, six ground balls and 10 draw controls.
