(Last week's ranking in parentheses)
1. St. Anthony’s (1)
After a perfect homestand, including a strong 7-2 win over Iona Prep, St. Anthony’s (7-4) lost in overtime to USA Lacrosse’s No. 3 team in the country in Lawrenceville, NJ. Kellenberg comes to South Huntington this week before the Friars head out to face Connecticut’s Darien and Pennsylvania’s Haverford.
2. Chaminade (2)
The Flyers rushed back to action this week and didn’t disappoint, beating New Canaan, Boston College High School and Manhasset all by at least three goals. It only gets harder for Chaminade (10-3), though, with Delbarton and Iona Prep on deck.
3. Garden City (3)
The verdict is finally in; the Trojans are human after all. Garden City (10-1) finally lost a game, 10-9, against St. Augustine Prep. The Trojans responded with a 12-8 win over Shawnee. They may be human, but only just.
4. Massapequa (5)
Massapequa (9-2) achieved a perfect week with wins over Kellenberg, Port Washington and East Islip. No Nassau side scores more than Massapequa’s 16.2 goals per game, with both Rocco Spallina and Nolan Wieczorek already eclipsing 60 points.
5. Syosset (6)
Syosset won a 10-9 thriller over Farmingdale in what felt like a playoff preview. Following an overtime win over West Islip — shoutout to Cole Beekman for his winner — Syosset (10-1) takes a seven-game winning streak into Tuesday’s game against Garden City.
6. Manhasset (4)
Losses to Cold Spring Harbor and Chaminade leave Manhasset (8-3) in a rough spot after a great month of play. Injuries have taken their toll yet again, but healthy returns come playoff time.
7. Farmingdale (7)
A tight loss to Syosset ended a five-game winning streak for the Dalers. Plainview-Old Bethpage, Oceanside and reigning state Class C champion Somers come to Farmingdale (8-2) next week.
8. Northport (8)
The Tigers took care of business against Huntington and Middle Country, with a dynamic foursome of Greyson Cabrera, Gavin O’Brien, Ryder Maag and Luke Loiacono consistently leaving their marks. Big games await Northport (8-2); Ward Melville and Bay Shore are next.
9. Wantagh (9)
It’s easy to take for granted just how explosive this offense is. Adding in dominant wins over both South Side and Connecticut’s Ridgefield, Wantagh (9-3) has averaged 14 goals per game behind Devin Paccione’s Long Island-best 81 points.
10. Cold Spring Harbor (On the cusp)
It’s felt wrong not having Cold Spring Harbor (8-3) on this list in past weeks, given what coach Dennis Bonn and this Seahawks program accomplish every year. But they’ve absolutely earned their place after logging an 11-10 double-overtime win over Manhasset and now take a seven-game winning streak into a date with South Side Monday.
On the cusp: Sachem North, Port Washington, Smithtown East, Lindenhurst, Ward Melville
