Winning a title is one thing. Lifting a ninth consecutive county title is another.

But a ninth consecutive county title, paired with an undefeated season? That’s something else entirely, and it’s a feat only one program can lay claim to: Carle Place’s boys soccer team.

Top-seeded Carle Place defeated No. 2 Oyster Bay, 4-2, in the Nassau Class B championship game Friday night at SUNY Farmingdale. Cristiano Costa continued a tremendous season as he scored two goals and assisted another, bringing his totals to 24 goals and 13 assists.

No player has more goals or points (37) than the senior, who has recorded at least one point in all but one game.

“Going into the season I had high expectations for myself, and all my teammates had high expectations for me,” Costa said. “But it’s really so nice to see the whole team click together and see everyone step up and just combine together. Everyone’s getting the fair credit they deserve.”

The Frogs (16-0) will face Suffolk's Babylon in the Long Island Class B championship game in a state subregional contest at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Uniondale's Mitchel Field. It will be the seventh consecutive time the teams have met at this stage.

“For what we’re doing over here, I think they’re doing over there,” coach Conor Reardon said. “It’s a very similar community to ours, and I expect it to be what it always is; a strong team with a lot of talent.”

Costa isn’t alone on a Carle Place team that averages over 4.3 goals per game. Justin Escobar scored his 16th goal of the season and assisted another, and Anthony Maffetone added a goal of his own as the Frogs led 3-0 at halftime.

“I think, as a family, we’ve created a better bond,” Escobar said. “We’ve also become less selfish throughout the season, because we knew if we played less selfish, we would accomplish more as a team.”

Jesel Cruz and Anderson Herrera Rodriguez scored for Oyster Bay (8-5-3), which took another step forward in 2026 after the Baymen went 4-7-4 a year earlier. Carle Place and Oyster Bay also battled in the season finale, with the Frogs winning 2-1.

“There were a lot of games this season where the result wasn’t really in doubt late in the game,” Reardon said. “And that was a big game. It was a night game, it was on Varsity Media, and I think that gave us a playoff atmosphere for a bunch of guys who maybe hadn’t been there before. I think that helped prime us for this run.”

And until further notice, Nassau’s Class B belongs to Carle Place.
