1. St. Anthony’s
There are countless difficult decisions to make when it comes to picking Long Island’s top 10 teams. The decision to put the Friars (11-0-1) atop the list is not one of them.
St. Anthony’s bested top teams in Garden City and St. Francis, boasting a remarkable plus-58 goal differential. Even in a talented CHSAA, expect St. Anthony’s to reach the league championship and compete for a state title.
2. Commack
The Cougars (9-1-1) won nine straight games before falling in overtime to Whitman on Oct. 1. That includes a 3-1 win over the Wildcats just under a month earlier.
Ryan Curcio looks like one of the best players on Long Island, let alone Suffolk, and has produced as one with 52 points. Commack hasn’t won back-to-back county titles since 1994-1995, but this could be the year the Cougars pull it off.
3. Oceanside
Every team on Long Island can use a player like Jackson Langevin in the attacking third. Fortunately for Oceanside (10-0-2), he belongs to the Sailors.
Langevin’s 11 goals and 10 assists are only one part of a deep starting 11. His brother, Dylan, has been similarly impactful while Brady Castoro and goalkeeper Collin Schirrmacher cannot be overlooked.
4. South Side
Whether it’s Quinari Mesquita, Noah Porter or Brandon Curtis, the Cyclones have the defense and depth to compete for a Class AA title both in Nassau and beyond. That already showed that with a huge win over Garden City on Sept. 22.
The only concern shows on the record, with one too many ties this season as South Side (9-0-5) drew Bethpage twice as well as Glen Cove, Division and Floral Park. The Cyclones will need to be better at putting teams away come elimination time.
5. Brentwood
Despite graduating nearly every starter, Brentwood remains atop Suffolk’s League I with a stellar 11-1 record.
Sachem East remains the only team to defeat the Spartans, with Brentwood avenging its loss almost a month later. There have been plenty of close games — more than usual when compared to past years — but credit to first-year coach Victor Farfan and this roster for finding a way to be a title contender in Suffolk yet again.
6. Garden City
The Trojans seek a third consecutive state title this fall, a testament to the talent the program continues to produce.
From Thomas Schreier to Gianluca Damiano to Kyle Swanson, the lineup’s depth is impressive after a senior-led 2025 team. Jericho handed the Trojans (11-3) a stunning loss Thursday — their first loss in conference play in five years — after Garden City posted 10 shutouts in 14 games.
7. Sachem East
It’s been a fascinating season for Sachem East (9-3).
The team lost twice to crosstown rival Sachem North but split with Brentwood and convincingly won its other eight games. Sachem East boasts a plus-19 goal differential and one of the county’s top players in Jaxson Weber, not to mention the emergence of Jake Symancyk.
8. Whitman
Only one team has beaten Commack, with that honor belonging to Whitman (8-2-2). But the Wildcats have more than one notable win, including an overtime victory over Ward Melville, and plenty of talent around the starting 11.
Kudos to coach John DiGiacomo, who won his 208th match on Oct. 1 against Commack to become the program’s all-time leader in wins.
9. Carle Place
Only one team on Long Island has won every single game this fall. That’s Carle Place (13-0).
Cristiano Costa’s Long-Island-leading 20 goals — to go along with 10 assists — and a breakout senior year from Gavin Lima have led the Frogs to a tremendous season.
The Frogs remain strong favorites for their ninth consecutive Nassau B title and should compete beyond that.
10. Floral Park
Floral Park is one of four undefeated teams in Nassau. That comes despite heavy turnover from the back-to-back Nassau Class A championship rosters of 2024 and 2025.
Goalkeeper Kaden Sy is enjoying a terrific season in net, evident by the team’s eight clean sheets this fall. The Knights (11-0-2) should push for a third title this fall; a tremendous feat after the program lifted its first county, Long Island and state titles in 2024.
On the cusp: Chaminade, Roslyn, Manhasset, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, East Hampton
