Nassau I/II Crossovers
Christian McCravey returned an interception 23 yards for a touchdown with 5:37 left in Freeport’s 7-0 win over host Roosevelt in a Nassau I/II crossover game on Thursday. McCravey added a sack on Roosevelt’s ensuing drive and Daniel Rimpell’s sack forced a turnover on downs with 1:31 left. McCravey’s 9-yard run on third-and-3 allowed Freeport (3-1) to run out the clock. He had 17 carries for 117 yards. Judah Murchison added an interception. TJ Silas had an interception for Roosevelt (1-2).
FRIDAY’S GAMES
Syosset 7, Calhoun 6: George Metaxas found Sebastian Casabianca for a tying 15-yard touchdown pass with 3:34 left in the fourth quarter for host Syosset (2-2) in a Nassau I/II crossover game. Salvatore Laudicina kicked the go-ahead PAT. Nick Maresca scored a 3-yard TD run with 9:32 left in the fourth quarter for Calhoun (1-2).
Valley Stream Central 34, Herricks/Wheatley/Roslyn 16: Nickoli Friday had 21 carries for 250 yards and four touchdowns to lead host Valley Stream Central (3-0) in a Nassau I/II crossover game. Friday had TD runs of 9, 50, 8 and 46 yards. Evan Nelson ran for 40 yards and a score and completed a 45-yard pass to Zakai Phillips. James Baksh and Arjan Josan-Bryson each caught a touchdown pass from Alex Giuliano for Herricks/Wheatley/Roslyn (0-3).
Hempstead 41, New Hyde Park 11: Nylan Burroughs had six carries for 155 yards and two touchdowns and Lamarcus Parson added nine carries for 114 yards and three TDs to lead host Hempstead (3-0) in a Nassau I/II crossover game. Seth Montgomery ran for 88 yards and a score on four carries and added an interception. Levon McKithen and Parson each had two sacks. Hunter Nacewicz ran for a TD and a two-point conversion and Tom Lopez made a 26-yard field goal for New Hyde Park (2-2).
Hicksville 35, Jericho 8: Erijah Britto had 10 carries for 165 yards and three touchdowns, caught a 60-yard TD pass and had 11 tackles to lead visiting Hicksville (1-2) in a Nassau I/II crossover game. Ryan Baboolal and Jake Wagner each caught a two-point conversion pass from Jack Ferraro, who completed all six of his passes for 110 yards and a score. Matt Gonzalez had nine tackles and an interception. Jaskaran Zloi added a 9-yard TD run. Jake Morgan ran for a 21-yard TD and his brother, Brody, ran in the two-point conversion for Jericho (0-3).
Nassau III/IV Crossovers
Joe Lagalante and Christian Alfaro stopped Manhasset’s two-point run attempt with no time left to preserve host Locust Valley’s 7-6 win in a Nassau III/IV football crossover game on Friday. Marcus Houhgtaling’s 30-yard touchdown reception from Nolan McDonald gave Locust Valley a 7-0 lead in the third quarter. Michael DePietro ran in a 1-yard TD as time expired for Manhasset (2-1). Houghtaling caught two passes for 55 yards and a TD and had 14 tackles (three for loss) and a fumble recovery. Liam Roberts had 11 tackles, Lagalante had nine tackles and Alfaro had eight tackles for Locust Valley (1-2).
Division 16, Valley Stream South 15: Chris Ruggia ran for two touchdowns and two two-point conversions to lead host Division (1-2) in a Nassau III/IV crossover game. Ruggia’s second touchdown and two-point run early in the fourth quarter was the final score of the game. On Valley Stream South’s ensuing drive, Aiden Mirelis forced a fumble and Dante Clemente recovered it, allowing the Blue Dragons to run the clock out. David Dyer ran for a 3-yard touchdown and Aiden Parris ran for a 6-yard TD for Valley Stream South (2-1).
Bethpage 22, Cold Spring Harbor 8: Liam Farrell rushed for two touchdowns and Jake McCaffery caught a 19-yard TD pass from Michael Mastrangelo to lead visiting Bethpage (3-0) in a Nassau III/IV crossover game. Louis Schneider had nine tackles, Leo Augugliaro had an interception and eight tackles and Alex Neuman added an interception. Conall Reynolds ran for a touchdown and threw a two-point pass to Andrew Bauer for Cold Spring Harbor (1-2).
Plainedge 37, Lynbrook 7: Dom Agovino rushed 13 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns and had five tackles to lead visiting Plainedge (2-1) in a Nassau III/IV crossover game. Lucas Rizzo made seven tackles and returned an interception for a 34-yard touchdown. Vinny Pugliese made four tackles and followed Rizzo’s pick-6 with a 41-yard fumble return for a TD. Mike Ranaudo ran for a TD and Niko Dimakopolous made a 38-yard field goal and four PATs. Thomas Potash rushed for a 38-yard touchdown for Lynbrook (2-1).
