Joseph Cangelosi found Kenneth Shaw for a 20-yard touchdown in double overtime to help lead New Utrecht over defending champion Sheepshead Bay 35-28 in double overtime in its PSAL 3A season opener.

Jeremiah Harvey broke two tackles in a fourth down conversion to set up Cangelosi's 1-yard rushing touchdown in the first overtime. Hang Yu Li ran in a two-point conversion to send the game to double overtime. He added 10 tackles, two forced fumbles and added a rushing touchdown. Shaw totaled 156 yards and had two touchdowns. Alexander Loria had seven tackles and Chris Farfan collected five tackles. Jacob Pierre Louis had four tackles and a 30-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Jayden Browne threw for 215 yards and registered three total touchdowns for Sheepshead Bay.

PSAL 4A

Wagner 27, New Dorp 20: Ian Bennett had four receptions for 173 yards and two touchdowns to lead Wagner in its league play opener. Salvatore Firpo threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns. Ronnie Jahziah Prince rushed 14 times for 82 yards and a touchdown. Sandro Patella had nine tackles including two for loss. He added five catches for 93 yards.

Erasmus Hall 43, John F. Kennedy 6: Michael Bennett completed 11 of 11 passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns to lead Erasmus Hall in its league play opener. Nayir Jackson had five receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Christian Thomas had two catches for 55 yards and a score. Trevor Smith returned a punt for a touchdown. Richuard Dobbin and Jordan Bishop both had a rushing touchdown. Dayvion Stephens had an 18-yard touchdown reception for Kennedy.

Eagle Academy II (Brooklyn) 42, Lincoln 0: Anthony Caratelli completed 14 of 15 passes for 269 yards and four touchdowns to lead Eagle Academy II in its league play opener. Zy'eare Schulters had 177 yards of offense and one touchdown. Juvens Lindor had two catches for 60 yards and a score. Josiah Brown had 45 receiving yards and a touchdown. Chase Hyacinth had six tackles and a sack.

Curtis 43, South Shore 12: Quadare Gomez totaled 139 yards and three touchdowns to lead Curtis in its league play opener. Christian Carter threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns. Akai Lewis had four receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns.

Tottenville 59, Port Richmond 6: Kory Brown had six carries for 75 yards and two touchdowns to lead Tottenville in its league play opener. Jazih Jones rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown. Vincent Geller had three receptions for 74 yards and one touchdown. Nicolas Constantino had a 36-yard touchdown catch. Donato D'Amelio had two rushing touchdowns.

Franklin K. Lane 24, Truman 0: Devontae Francis had a rushing touchdown and an interception return for a touchdown to lead Franklin K. Lane in its league play opener. Dwyane Roberts had a rushing touchdown and an interception. Keallun Louie had a rushing score.

Stuyvesant 44, Bayside 7: Fynn Chadwick completed 12 of 18 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns to lead Stuyvesant in its league play opener. Chadwick added 50 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Dennis Martin had three catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. Joseph Bido added a 28-yard touchdown reception. Krystian Socha had three sacks.

John Jay 33, Midwood 8: David Payne and Amari Hammonds both had two receiving touchdowns to lead John Jay in its league play opener. Tahjir Tomlin and Jeremiah Vangenderen both had two touchdown passes. Aaron Benjamin had 12 tackles including three for loss and a sack. Horus Jenkins had two sacks.

A. Philip Randolph 16, James Madison 6: Jaylen Guzman had an interception to lead A. Phillip Randolph in its league play opener. Emmanuel Opoku had a rushing touchdown and Zahaire Jones added a rushing score. Rayniel Valerio had a rushing touchdown for James Madison.

Jason Feaster had 78 rushing yards and one touchdown. Kassimou Bouda had four catches for 68 yards and a touchdown. Jayden Suero completed 12 of 22 passes for 201 yards and one touchdown. Houssine Altbouja had four tackles including a sack.

East Harlem Pride 26, Grand Street Campus 0: Saraji Paige had seven touches for 170 yards and three touchdowns to lead East Harlem Pride in its league play opener. Asher Lipman completed nine of 13 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown. Emmanuel Hernandez added 50 rushing yards and a score. Jaylin Harris had five catches for 90 yards and a touchdown. Kalidy Yafa had three tackles for loss.

Frederick Douglas Academy 26, Grady 6: Nicolas Bello threw for 155 yards and three touchdowns to lead Frederick Douglas Academy in its PSAL 1A season opener. Chariel Castillo had two catches for 110 yards and a pair of scores. Tsoede Lewis added 67 rushing yards and a touchdown.
