Newsday's top 10 high school girls lacrosse team rankings

1. St. Anthony’s (1)
The Friars continue their reign as they put up strong performances in conference play, taking down St. John the Baptist (15-3) and St. Dominic (12-4). St. Anthony’s, now 10-1, will close out the regular season with matchups against Wilton (Conn.), Kellenberg and New Canaan (Conn.).
2. Sayville (2)
Sayville continues its conquest as the best of Long Island public schools, standing as the only undefeated team remaining. The Golden Flashes (12-0) defeated Bayport-Blue Point, 13-6, last week in a rematch of last year’s Suffolk Class C championship.
3. Garden City (3)
The Trojans slipped by Suffern, 12-10, dominated Long Beach, 16-3, and continued their conquest over Manhasset in the Woodstick Classic, winning 16-8. Now 12-2 overall, Garden City remains undefeated in Nassau I.
4. Manhasset (4)
Manhasset came up with two tight wins last week — 7-6 over Chatham (NJ) and 16-15 over Massapequa — but fell short to Garden City, 16-8, on Saturday. Manhasset (11-2) will finish up its regular season against Syosset, Farmingdale and Northport.
5. West Islip (5)
After falling to Sayville, West Islip bounced back with two tight wins over strong Suffolk competition: 15-11 over Shoreham-Wading River and 13-11 over Smithtown West. The Tigers (11-1) will take on Bayport-Blue Point and Comsewogue next week.
6. Huntington (6)
The Blue Devils notched a tough 7-6 win over Ridgewood (NJ) last week and dominated Floyd and Whitman, but fell for the first time this season against Cold Spring Harbor on Saturday. Huntington (12-1) will wrap up its regular season with tough matchups against Northport and Ward Melville.
7. Cold Spring Harbor (8)
The Seahawks suffered two tough losses to Villa Maria (Penn.) and Long Beach last week, but came up with a huge 8-3 win over Huntington to serve the Blue Devils their first loss. CSH will wrap up its schedule this week against North Shore and Lynbrook.
8. Ward Melville (On the cusp)
The Patriots outlasted Northport in an 11-10 overtime win on April 28, serving the Tigers their first loss of the season. Taking down its toughest competition yet lifts Ward Melville (11-1) from the cusp up to the No. 8 slot. Freshman Nicole Manolakes is leading the team with 42 points (25 goals, 17 assists).
9. Northport (9)
After dropping its first loss to Ward Melville, Northport bounced back with a 16-6 win over Bay Shore. Northport (10-1) will close its regular season with two more tough matchups against Huntington and Manhasset this week.
10. Bayport-Blue Point (7)
The Phantoms dropped two more games to Darien (Conn.), 11-9, and Sayville, 13-6, to drop their record to 6-5. BBP defeated Kings Park on April 29, but will close its season with tough matchups against West Islip and Westhampton this week.
On the cusp: Smithtown West, Eastport-South Manor, Massapequa, South Side, Harborfields.
