Vangeli Efstathiou scored off an assist from Caleb Rojas in the second half to lead Bellmore JFK to a 1-0 win over Wantagh in a non-league boys soccer opener on Monday. Daniel Pilott had four saves, Zachary Migdal had three saves and Shane Meirowitch added two saves to combine for the shutout. Alex Jung made six saves for Wantagh.
West Babylon 4, Half Hollow Hills East 0: Sam Asselta scored two goals to lead West Babylon in non-league. Mert Yildiz and Cole Patrick each added a goal. Jake Whelan made five saves and Brody Woodward had two saves. Andre Cabrera made six saves for Half Hollow Hills East.
Shoreham-Wading River 2, Riverhead Charter 1: Zach Makarewicz had two goals to lead Shoreham-Wading River in non-league. John Zoumas had an assist. Josualdo Zavala-Avelar scored a goal and Samuel Akinola had 11 saves for Riverhead Charter.

Mattituck/Greenport/Southold 3, Westhampton 1: Devin Stanton had two goals and Charlotte Reiniger had a goal and an assist to lead Mattituck/Southold/Greenport in a non-league. Jasmin Barrientos scored a goal off an assist from Mia Ryback for Westhampton.
Eastport-South Manor 2, Centereach 1: Kylie Herrera scored two goals to lead Eastport-South Manor in non-league. Julianna LoDestro added a goal and Ava Golden and Lily Myers each had an assist. Julianna O'Connor assisted Marianna Ramirez' goal for Centereach.
Whitman 2, Half Hollow Hills East 1: Sam Rodriguez and Rebecca Tripoli each scored in the second half to lead Whitman in non-league. Francesca Grizopoulus scored a goal for Half Hollow Hills East.
Mineola 5, Valley Stream South 0: Paige Accardi scored two goals to lead Mineola in non-league. Jessica Miriel had a goal and an assist. Jill Powers and Ashley Rosier each added a goal.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Sachem East 3, Whitman 0: Bridget Hansen had 13 kills, 14 assists, six aces and nine digs to lead Sachem East to a 25-7, 25-11, 25-11 win in Suffolk II. Shea Christie had six kills, seven digs and two aces. Bailey Kueck and Avery Thurston each added six kills.
