High school sports roundup: Commack girls soccer wins in final seconds, plus more scores

Valentina Castelli scored the go-ahead goal, off an assist from Melena Cerulli, with nine seconds left in Commack’s 3-2 win over Ward Melville in Suffolk League I girls soccer Wednesday. Carly Pulcini added a goal and an assist and Rebecca Gillon made five saves for Commack (10-1). Giavanna Parente stopped five shots for Ward Melville (7-3).
Longwood 2, Sachem North 1: Grace Mitchell scored the game-winner off a corner kick with less then five minutes remaining to lead Longwood (8-3) in Suffolk I. Brooke Pfeiffer scored off a penalty kick in the first half. Makenzi Hansen made 14 saves. Emily De Los Santos scored and Mattea Vino made six saves for Sachem North (5-5-1).
Bellmore JFK 2, East Meadow 0: Kristen Lichtenstein and Lindsay Nashtatik each scored to lead Bellmore JFK (8-4-2) in Nassau III. Samantha Lapidus made nine saves and Samantha Frank and Hallie Siegler each had an assist. Ava Matthews made nine saves for East Meadow (4-5-3).
Patchogue-Medford 3, Floyd 0: Addison Ruland scored two goals and Samantha White added a third to lead Patchogue-Medford (7-5) in Suffolk I. Alisson Rivera made seven saves for Floyd (2-8-1).
North Babylon 7, Brentwood 0: Monica Clavijo scored four goals and Brook Milheiser had three assists for North Babylon (8-3) in Suffolk 1. Kayla Milheiser, Sarah Hernandez and Melania Turano each added a goal. Alexa Furman made six saves. Zoey Chavez made four saves for Brentwood (4-6-1).

Smithtown East 5, Eastport-South Manor 1: Joe Marano had two goals and two assists to lead Smithtown East (8-3-2) in Suffolk II. Branden Jurlando added a goal and an assist and Anthony Puleo had two assists. Bryan Cuzzone made 11 saves for Eastport-South Manor (0-12).
Harborfields 3, Half Hollow Hills East 0: Caiden Veitch, Ian Chae and Anderson Soper all scored to lead Harborfields (8-4) to a playoff berth in Suffolk II. Soper added two assists and Ryan Clegg also had an assist. Anthony Salerno recorded two saves to secure his third shutout of the season. Max Nava made three saves for Half Hollow Hills East (4-6-2).
Hauppauge 5, Westhampton 0: Jack DiPasquale scored two goals and Martin Zamorano added a goal and an assist to lead Hauppauge (6-5-2) in Suffolk II. Nico Mieles made seven saves. Nate Cangelosi made seven saves for Westhampton (5-6-1).
West Islip 2, Bellport 1: Nico Acosta scored two goals in the first half to lead West Islip (5-4-3) in Suffolk II. Michael Hazelton made six saves. Anthony Argueta scored and Bryant Tatacoya made four saves for Bellport (3-8-1).
Comsewogue 2, Centereach 0: Tristan Dent and Andrew Lunarola each scored for Comsewogue (9-3) in Suffolk II. Cristiano Pimentel had both assists and Bryan Udovich made eight saves. Vincent Crescenzo made nine saves for Centereach (3-9).

Centereach 3, Commack 0: Isabella Koch had a goal and an assist to lead Centereach (5-6) in Suffolk I. Brianna Brennan and Skylar Macca each added a goal. Meghan DeLaiarro made six saves for Commack (2-8).
Ward Melville 1, Patchogue-Medford 0: Hadley Torre scored the game-winner in a shootout for Ward Melville (9-1) in Suffolk I. Alex Cotlet had one save and Patchogue-Medford’s (6-4) Kate Comiskey recorded nine saves.
Huntington 6, North Babylon 0: Caroline Mitek tallied two goals and an assist for Huntington (8-4) in Suffolk I. Norah Golden added two goals and Sophie Hoffman had two assists. Ava Bencivenga and Shealyn Gilroy each scored a goal. Ciara Hunte made 10 saves for North Babylon (1-9).

Bay Shore 3, Whitman 0: Emily May had 21 assists and two digs, Shannon Smith had 16 kills and five aces and Haven Mills had 10 kills and seven aces to lead Bay Shore, 25-18, 25-14, 25-23, in Suffolk I. Kelsie Kennedy had six digs and Isabella Kroger added three aces for Bay Shore (13-0).
Northport 3, Copiague 0: Riley Zdrojeski had 23 kills, 13 digs, and three aces to lead Northport, 25-15, 25-16, 25-23, in Suffolk II. Christine Cocks had 15 assists, a kill, and two aces. Jillian Ryan added 12 assists, Kelly Guerra had 13 digs and an ace, and Jackie Arken and Kiera Murphy combined for five blocks for Northport (7-5).
